Peter Murphy

Called back for two well deserved encores Murphy kicked off his new tour in amazing form. Gleaning from a catalog that spans over 30 years Murphy put together a powerful set.

Bauhaus tracks included Silent Hedges, Burning from the Inside and Stigmata Martyr. A nod to Bela was given in the reprise to Strange Kind of Love.

This tour both supports and preempts Murphy’s upcoming studio release “Ninth” to be released on June 7, 2011 and the band played half a dozen new songs.

For me the highlight was Marlene Dietrich’s Favorite Poem during the first encore.

This is the most aggressive band I have seen Murphy with since he went solo. Lineup is 2 guitars, bass, drums and vocals.
